As a Waldorf Inspired Nursery Program,  here at Acorn Nursery School our focus is  to provide the best elements of care found within a healthy home.

From  our choice of a natural environment for the children, our daily  outings, organic gardening, circle time with songs and rhymes, story  time and art projects, to our carefully designed organic menu;  everything we do here at Acorn Nursery School is done so that the  children feel nurtured, experience beauty, wonder and a connection with the living world of nature.

Everything at Acorn Nursery School is thoughtfully designed to reflect the calm, beauty, and security of home life.

• Natural materials such as wood, wool, cotton, and silk
• Soft lighting and warm colors that create a sense of peace
• Simple, open-ended toys that encourage imagination and creativity
• Small group settings that allow for deep connection and individualized care
   

This intentional simplicity supports children’s nervous systems and allows them to engage fully in their play and surroundings.

Our days follow a gentle, predictable rhythm that helps children feel safe, grounded, and confident.

• Daily outdoor exploration, rain or shine
• Circle time with seasonal songs, finger plays, and rhymes
• Story time using oral storytelling and puppetry
• Art experiences with natural materials such as beeswax crayons and watercolor paints
• Organic gardening, allowing children to care for and observe living plants
   

Through repetition and rhythm, children develop trust in the world around them and a strong sense of belonging.

We place great importance on nourishment—both physical and emotional.

• Daily organic, home-cooked meals prepared with care
• Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and simple, wholesome recipes
• Mealtimes treated as social, calming experiences where children eat together and practice gratitude
   

Care routines such as diapering, handwashing, and rest are approached with mindfulness and respect, fostering trust and connection between caregiver and child.

Nature is our classroom. Daily time outdoors allows children to experience the changing seasons, develop physical strength, and cultivate a lifelong relationship with the natural world.

Through gardening, nature walks, and free play, children develop reverence for life, curiosity, and resilience.
